This post I decided on not so much of a song but more a particularly interesting podcast. Specifically The DICE Podcast episode 6. In this episode, the brilliant Jen Long (below) takes the trip to Australia to go to the Laneway Festival. She talks with East India Youth, a chap from Health and one of the creators of the festival: St. Jerome. The festivals history is it started way back in 2005 and in a similar way to festivals like The Vans Warped Tour, they take the artists around to different cities each week to perform. The festival has finished for this year but by the sounds of it, it was a pretty magical time had by all. Looking at the line up I would take the trip to see Fidlar and Chvrches alone and just go where the wind takes me for the rest of the festival becasue there are so many good bands playing. Laneway currently runs mainly around Australia with spots in Detroit and Singapore but I hope great festivals like this get the support they deserve and continue to get better and better. Design Of The Month

It may not seem initially music related but stay with me. My piece of design that I love this month is the recently released Nexus 6P from the guys at Google who have partnered with Huawei for their sleek, stylish latest phone. I am a big fan of the Nexus range as I own the Nexus 5 phone and their 7 inch tablet and am big fans of both. What I like specifically about the 6P above the other phones that they have released including the 5X is the introduction of the finger print scanner in a location which seems more comfortable to the user, larger and better quality screen, better processor and two of the best improvements being the battery life and the storage space of the phone. I know I have talked about the Marshall phone and how great it is, but with this release from Google it has really swayed me into purchasing the 6P as my next smart phone early next year. Plus for new customers who purchase it, the phone comes with 90 days free Google Play Music which is the best streaming service imo. Enjoy!

BBC Radio 6 Music

Basically I want to show my fondness for the radio station that is BBC Radio 6 Music. It is one of my favorite radio stations ever and easily my favorite BBC radio station. They play a great mix of music from all different decades. Mainly quality rock and alternative music which is the genres I like the most. This week there are live music sessions at Maida Vale. Just yesterday The Strypes played a great set and The Foals & Everything Everything and more will be playing later on in the week which is gonna be brilliant.
