Jake Evans - Easy On My Soul YTV

28/07/15 YouTube Video

Last weekend was a bit of a concert feast. On Saturday night I went to see Jake Evans play at The Deaf Institute and on Sunday night I went to Phil Busbys album release gig at The Castle Hotel. Both gigs were great for many varied reasons such as talent and guitar skills, and one of the best songs played was the one in the video below. Jake played it as one of his closing tracks to finish off the night and with the whole room singing along, it really was quite a spectacular moment to be a part of. I am looking forward to hearing more from Jake in the near future with his new album release etc. Enjoy!

WillsEasyGuitar Building Guitar History YTV

02/06/15 YouTube Video

This week is a bit of a different kind of video. It is a vlog from WillsEasyGuitar where in part 1 he drives around and starts to talk about how he started as a guitar player and builder. I found this 2 part video really interesting because I learnt how Will mostly single handedly started a successful guitar business (Garvin Guitars) through constant improvement, original ideas and good decisions. Some of his designs aren't up my street in terms of taste and some of his opinions I don't fully agree with but I have respect for the knowledge he has in specific areas and I find most of his guitar related videos a must watch. Enjoy!

We Are Scientists - Make It Easy YTV

08/07/14 YouTube Video

This last weekend was Godiva Festival at Coventry Memorial Park. An annual free music festival that spans three nights and this year is the second year I have attended. I only went on the Saturday this year due to funds and Saturday seemed to have the best days line up. My personal highlight of the day was We Are Scientists who held the penultimate days slot. But other acts that were impressive were Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Little Matador and Young Aviators. We Are Scientists played a lot of the well known songs and also the song below which was new to me but I liked it so that is why it is this weeks YouTube video. The video is as random as you can expect from the band, with the same humor/surrealism that their videos normally have. I have also included some photos that I took during the festival. Enjoy!

Made Violent - You Had It Easy & Talk About It

Two great tracks from the band Made Violent. Both of these tracks really remind me of The Strokes in terms of the vocals and the guitar riffs. It has that NYC indie rock sound that these two bands obviously share and it is a style of music that I absolutely adore. I hope that the album they end up producing after these singles will have more crackers like these on there, and it should make for a great listen.

Let me know what you think of these tracks below in the comment section, thanks.
